The Dude abides

As the Oscar buzz around Jeff Bridges's performance in Crazy Heart continues to build (and having just seen George Clooney in Up In The Air I can't decide if I want him to get it, Clooney is marvellous), Ben Walters at the Guardian has written an excellent piece on the continuing love for his most iconic role, The Big Lebowski. The Dude abides.

    Up in the Air left me a bit cold to be honest. I enjoyed it but it was a little too slick and so predictable. Of course never a chore to watch George though.

    Really? I loved it - I guess I wasn't really paying attention, I didn't predict it at all sadly. Pretty bleak but honest, nothing like the romcom they make it look like in the trailer. I like a film without a conventional happy ending!

    Loved that article. Thanks for posting. I even went bowling and drank some white russians on Saturday night.

    BTW, if you click on the edit button just under your Twitter feed, it will open the code for the widget. About 8 or 10 lines down you should have "width" with a number (maybe about 300) next to it. Change the number to 220 and the widget will fit the side bar properly.
